Chapter 1: Hello! Vero Beach

I just finished my lunch, first meal of the day. I'm doing an intermittent fasting which a proper discipline is needed. Now, sipping a nice cup of tea, while doing this. It is starting to get chilly down here, that we reach at least 46 in the morning and by afternoon it stays between 60 to 70 degrees, that's a perfect weather as my husband says.

This is the start of my story. An unexpected one. I flew to Florida for a vacation to spend time with my boyfriend and meet his family. I didn't intend to stay longer, I even have my return ticket to fly back after a 1 month stay in the US, things happen. My first 2 months in the US was grand. I've went to Orlando as an exchange student way back 2008, so it feels like I'm back, only in a different scenario.

I can sum up that life here in US is pretty much convenient aside from the term expensive, I can say it's good and our neighbors are friendly. Everybody is friendly, just don't pissed them off. You see that blue dot? That's where Vero Beach is, between Orlando and Miami. At least an hour or more to drive to those places, again it's convenient.

I'm planning to get a job somewhere outside the Philippines and staying in the US is somehow is the last in my plans. I've changed my mind going back to cruise ship. I figure it is really not for me. I wanted to save up for the future, at least I won't have any struggle but sometimes there are things that we didn't expect to happen in between. I enjoyed my time with my ex-boyfriend, now husband. Those months of traveling, seeing places here in Florida, meeting his family, it was awesome. Then he propose to me, it was the best day of my life and for him as well. I know that there's no turning back, my parents know that I'll start my life somewhere and that's okay with them even I know I won't be able to spend time with them anymore, that's the sad part. But, they gave us their blessing and after a week without hesitation we got married in a civil wedding. I promised my parents that we will have a proper wedding in the Philippines so my Dad can walk me down the isle.

The day of the wedding. It's just simple and we only have our friend Joe and the authorized official to help us with our vows. God bless us with rain.

On that day onward I am Ivy Joy V. Muthart , married to Nick Muthart a Chiropractor and we reside here in Vero Beach, Florida. I can say that married life is a work in progress for a lifetime. My husband and I enjoy even more time together and we compliment each other in a way that only the two of us understand.
